Inter-Mission with David

This is for Pastors. It is about using gifts God gave to you, not necessarily to others. So much of my early ministry was spent trying to emulate others whom I deemed successful as Pastors. It took 20 years before I    realized I couldn’t be “them.” I had to be the person whom God created and called.

I am not perfect and I have belatedly discovered that no one else is either. However, we serve a perfect Saviour and were each given gifts to love Him and serve Him with varying degrees but, as we all do this, we are perfectly loving and serving Him – together!

In the best sense, this is to be expressed through the local church, its members, and common mission. >From another perspective it is expressed in our Florida Baptist Association of Churches.

Pastor, I love you… not what you are able to accomplish professionally. I love you for who you are, gifted in ways I was not gifted that I and others might be the beneficiaries.

OPERATION: TRAINING CHURCH LEADERSHIP

Thank you ahead of time for doing all you can to promote each of the 11 training opportunities at our upcoming discipleship conference, February 25, 2008. See the insert for a full description of each workshop.

I hope you will send as many people as possible to attend the conference on missions and evangelism called, “Becoming A Church of Irresistible Influence.” It is based on the book by Robert Lewis that describes the steps their church took to develop an outward focus for their community.

Student Conference

This year we have added two workshops just for students. If each church could ask two high school students and two college-age students to be the representatives of their church, we would have an overflow crowd and a great opportunity to share leadership principles with the next generation from your church.

Additional Workshop Added - Lay Renewal Weekends

Terry Land will give information concerning Lay Renewal and how your church could benefit from participating in Lay Renewal. He will share the many options and types of Lay Renewal that can be tailor made just for your church.
